Hi y'all!

Happy Thursday to ya! It's a beatiful sunny morning here today. I think the boys and I are going to do a little swimming later on. It's supposed to be really hot today.

Austin finally came home from his friend's house. He stayed six nights with him and his friend stayed one night with us. They really had a great time. I know that they wanted to spend some time together because school will be starting soon and Dallas goes to a different school. Naturally they don't see each other that much when school is in session. My sister called me yesterday and proceeded to tell me that I was wrong for letting Austin stay over there that long. She said that I should be spending time with him while he is out of school. I tried explaining to her that he has done nothing but play ball all summer and I thought he had earned to spend a few days with a friend. Before he went to Dallas', I was spending a lot of time with him....every day in fact. I would spend all day with him before I went to work in the afternoons. We would go out to eat lunch, go swimming, etc. Was I really wrong to let him stay over there for so long? Am I a bad mother for doing so? My sister really made me feel bad for what she said to me, and now I think I am doubting my maternal abilities. Maybe I am just reading too far into it, but she hurt my feelings.

Well, I am off to visit my reads for the day. I hope you all have a super day!
=hugs=

Good morning friends!

We finally got some rain yesterday...it was quite the little storm! My grass is starting to turn brown, there are burn bans out, and the highs have been 101 with a heat index of 111!!! Now that is H-O-T!!

Sorry about not posting yesterday ...I have had a busy couple of days! I decided to stay off the computer for a while yesterday and spend some time with Tanner. I also had to go to the orthodontist and get that bracket replaced that I broke off my braces. Man, did that hurt!!! My teeth are, once again, sore.

My boss called me just a few minutes ago and wanted to know if I wanted some overtime today, so I am going into work at noon! Woo hoo! Overtime is always good! Anyway...I guess I better get off here so that I can get ready for work. I just wanted to stop in and journal a bit and tell everyone hello. I hope you all have a super day! =hugs=

Good morning friends!

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It's a beautiful day Sunny Little outside right now, but I think we are supposed to get some storms BlogTStorms later tonight which will be nice because it is supposed to cool off just a tad.

Goodness...It's been a couple of days since I last blogged Type. Sorry about that! I'm working nights on the weekends and it seems as though I am spending most of my time sleeping ZZZ on the weekends.

We took the Kids to the Circus Saturday night and they really enjoyed it. It was the local Shriner's Circus, so it wasn't anything really fancy but it was something for the kids to do. We took our boys, my niece and one of Austin's friends...I don't think I could have for kids! Hubby certainly isn't cut out to have 4 kids!

Austin's 10th birthday is August 17th, so we've been talking about what he wants to do for his birthday party BlogBDCandle. He's decided that he wants to have a slumber party and take everyone to ride go-carts. He loves BlogHeart riding go-carts and I think the rest of the kids will enjoy it as well. We then had a huge discussion as to what theme he wants for the party and he is so indecisive Ugh!! He's at that age where he thinks he's too big for some things but he'sj ust not big enough for other things.

Well, I think I will go fix me something cool to drink and go sit out on the swing for a while. I don't have any plans for today so I think I will just be lazy and enjoy my day off! I hope you have a wonderful day!

=hugs=

Long post today....

Wow! It's after 10:00 and I just crawled out of bed! :o) Hubby is gone to work, Austin is at a friend's house, and Tanner is at Mom's until tomorrow. It sure was nice to sleep in! I stayed up late last night so that I could sleep in today because I have to work at midnight tonight. So...it should be a nice, quiet day around here today! What will I do with myself? Hmmmm...!!! I've been trying to re-arrange my Adoption Shoppe to make it a little easier to view, but I'm not having much luck. This is what I want to do: I want to put the links to all the adoptions in a scrolling text box or inline frame type thing and I just can't figure it out! I'm starting to get a little frustrated! Anyone got any ideas or a code that they would be willing to send to me?!?

I have yet another mission in my life too...I want to quit smoking. I know that I need to quit, I know that it's bad for me, and...my kids are always hounding me about quitting. I think I am about half-way scared to quit. I am scared that I will gain wait...(you know the usual). I just don't know if I can quit, you know? All my life, I have been around smokers and started smoking when I was only 14 or 15 years old (sneaking around, of course)...that means I have been smoking for 14 or 15 years! Oh my gosh... Well, I guess I've rambled enough. Thanks for listening to me beat up on myself this morning. LOL

Weekly Wrap-up:

1. What song (new or old) do you secretly enjoy, but publicly ridicule? Why?
I don't think there are any that I ridicule. I am a huge music fan and I love all kinds of music. My take is that if there is something that I don't like, I just don't listen to it. Music is a person's way of expressing himself/herself. I'm not sure that ridicule is constructive when it's someone else's thoughts and expressions. Does that make sense?!? :o)

2. Do you carry a purse or tote bag or backpack? If so, what's inside?
Do I carry a purse!! LOL I have a purse feddish...of course I carry one! :::giggle::: What's in it? Well...my checkbook, wallet, make-up bag, pen, mace, mints, cigarettes, lighter, and my car keys.

3. Describe your dream job. Why did you select this one?
I am attending college to be a nurse, but I think that my dream job would be a flight attendant. My mom is a flight attendant and she really loves her job. This is a new dream for me, but I would love to do that! In fact, I have applied for a job with the same airline that my mom works for...

4. You are given an opportunity to live anywhere in the world, expense free, but you can never move again. Where do you live? Why?
Chicago!!!!! I went there in December and it's the best...I love that place! :o)

5. What do you like about living in your particular city? Would you recommend it to others as a good place to live and work? Why?
I live in a small town of about 2,000 people. There isn't really anywhere to work, but it is a nice town to live in. I suppose I would recommend it to others!

6. You have a superpower. What is it? What do you do with it? Do you tell anyone?
I am a mom! Who needs more superpower than that! :o)

7. What five people, living or dead, famous or not, do you wish lived on your block?
My grandmother, my grandfather, my other grandfather, my mother-in-law, and my cousin Emily. (all of whom have passed away)

Beautiful day!!!

Wow, it sure is nice out today! I hope you are all enjoying your Thursday afternoon. Some of you may be familiar with the online group called Website Mommies. Well, I got some sad news today...they're closing it down! How terribly sad is that? I am so sad to see Website Mommies go. Although I haven't been that active in the group this summer, I do enjoy being a member and I have made many new friends through WM. I can only hope that someone will take over and the group will remain open.

I have been doing a lot of updating on my site over the last few days, and I need some help from all of you! :o) If you don't mind, please click ::here:: and let me know when your birthday is. I would love to be able to send all my bloggin' buds a little something on their special day! Thanks!

My kids have deserted me again!!! Tanner is gone to Conway with my mom and dad (and my niece went too) and Austin is staying a third night with a friend tonight! I think they must be getting it all out of their system before school starts. Speaking of which...I can't believe my baby is starting kindergarten in three weeks! Ugh! Does that mean I am getting old? I am really dreading him starting school and I am not sure why. I mean, I cried when Austin started, but I really seem to be having an issue with Tanner starting. I guess maybe it's because he is the baby and all. I don't know....

I have had my first incident with my braces...can you believe that?!? Already! I was sound asleep this morning only to wake myself up biting down on my teeth and this "pop" woke me up. I guess I was gritting my teeth and popped one of them off. So, I have to go back to the orthodontist Tuesday to have it replaced. I'm sure he'll give me something to put in my mouth while I am sleeping so that this doesn't happen again. Geez!!! :o)

Well, I have to be at work at 4:00 today, so I better get to visiting my blog buds so that I can get ready. I hope you're having a super day.

One more thing before I go... Thanks to all of you that visit me each day. It means a lot to me to have such wonderful, caring, understanding friends whom I've never met. You're all great! Thanks!! =hugs=

Good morning!

Well, today is completely opposite of yesterday.  It's nice outside and a little bit cloudy .  I was planning to take the boys swimming today, but I don't think we're going to be able to make it.  They are still hounding me about it, but I don't think
they quite understand what I am telling them!!  There has to be sunshine and no rain in order to go swimming (in my rule book anyway)!!

My teeth are starting to feel a lot better.  I have been eating a lot of ice cream and other foods that are soft, but I think I am getting to the point that I can eat something solid.  Gosh I hope so!  Some popcorn would be good...I love popcorn and I don't think I am going to be able to eat any for quite some time!

The funeral went well yesterday.  There was probably 300+ people there and it was standing room only.  It amazes me that someone so young has influenced the lives of so many.  He was only 28 years old.  Ryan was a wonderful, Christian man and truly loved music.  He was a band director at a junior high school a couple of hours from here.  When we were in high school, he was a drummer...the best drummer I've ever met!  Needless to say, I saw a lot of old high school class mates and it brought back a lot of memories for me.

I guess I have rambled on enough for the morning.  I need to get off here and get some stuff for school taken care of.  I need to get some more classes scheduled and get my loan stuff taken care of.  So, I'm off here...y'all have a radiant day!

Here's
my This or That for today:

1) DVD or VHS?

DVD

2) Best Literary/Movie Villan: Voldemort (Harry Potter) or Sauron (LoTR)?

Neither!

3) Meat: rare or well-done?

Medium rare

4) High Speed Internet-Cable or DSL?

I don't have either yet, but as soon as we get upgraded where I live, we'll be getting cable

5) Women: 1-piece bathing suit or Bikini?

Are you kidding?!?  I wear a ONE piece!!

6) To be fair--Men: Boxers or briefs?

Briefs (hubby wears them!!)

7) Beer or Liquor/Wine?

I drink beer and wine....just depends on what I am doing or eating, I guess

8) Coke or Mountain Dew?

Coke (preferably diet)

9) In honor of my 10/18/03 nuptials: Morning or Afternoon/Night Wedding?

Mine was an evening wedding...6:00 p.m.

10) Carpet or Hardwood Floors

Carpet

11) American cars or foreign?

American

12) Cutest TV Twin: Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen?

Mary-Kate

13) Coffee: Caffeinated or Decaf?

Caffeinated...definitely!

14) Thought-Provoking Question of the Week: Computers: Do they make life
better or worse? Why?

I think they make life better.  On a home-life level, it makes it easier and less costly for people to communicate with friends and family.  On a work
level, it makes it easier to store information and track business transactions.

Hot, Hot, Hot!

I went outside just a few minutes ago and it is already blazing
hot outside!  And muggy...wooeee!  I guess it is going to storm later today.  I sure hope it hold off until after the funeral.  I need to fix a cup of coffee so that I can get going this morning.  I am usually a morning person, but I was up late last night and I am having a hard time getting started today!

It's quit here this morning.  The boys are still asleep, so I thought I would grab some quiet time on the computer before they get up.  It's just me and the cat right now!

I really need to get some cleaning done around the house and I would really like to weed my flower beds before it storms.

I did some more work on my web sites yesterday.  I think I am finally all caught up on the stuff that I needed to get added.  Thank goodness!  My Adoption Shoppe has been a huge success and I am really enjoying it.  I have gotten some really great e-mails from ladies telling me how they have enjoyed the shoppe.  That really makes my day!!!  I love having the adoption shoppe and hope that all of you are enjoying it as well!

Well, the lightening is kicking in, so I better get off here and shut my computer down.  I hope you all have a great day!

Happy Sunday!

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend. Mine is just getting started because I worked all weekend...I am off tonight and tomorrow night. I am now working midnight to 8:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, so I am sleeping all day which really stinks! I hate sleeping during the day!

I want to share a cute little gift that I got from my bloggin' buddy, Jana. She is a sweetheart and we have been buds for quite sometime now. Thanks so much Jana!! (((hugs))) to you!!

I received some disturbing news over the weekend. A friend that I went to school with was killed in a car accident last week. He was a year younger than me and I probably haven't seen him since I graduated high school, but none the less, we were friends in school. We were in band together, went to band camp together, and were just good friends. He is a really neat guy and totally loved music. He had a college degree in music and was a band director at a high school. His funeral is tomorrow at 3:00, so I will be atttending that.

On a lighter note, I found a neat thing called Googlism over at Jana's. So...here is mine (Obviously some of these aren't true, but I found it rather entertaining. It's lengthy, so beware!):

Good Friday Morning!

Well, all went well yesterday and I am the proud new owner of braces on my teeth! Yesterday went really well, but I am extremely sore this morning. It only took them about an hour to put them on, which was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I decided to go with the traditional silver braces because the Dr. informed me that the ceramic ones take longer and cost more...didn't take me long to make that decision! :o) I do have purple rubber bands on my brackets, though. Cute! LOL

I haven't had anyone make fun of me yet, but I guess I should expect it at some point over the next 2 years. It's inevitable, I guess. My boys think they are really cool too! They are going to take a lot of getting used to, but it'll be worth it in the end. (I only wish now I had gotten them when my mom tried to get me to get them when I was younger!) At any rate, I am blessed to be able to get them.

I found a new blog helper to do. It's call Weekly Wrap-Up. Here's that for this week...

1. Describe a childhood memory in which you sustained a physical injury. It doesn't have to be a serious injury, only one that you remember distinctly. What happened?
I remember when I was about 11 years old, I was sitting on a skateboard and riding it down a huge hill...needless to say, I crashed and burned!! :o) I had a terrible scrape on my knee that seemed to take forever to go away.

2. If that particular memory was not about your worst physical injury, what was/is? What made it so bad?
I think the worst physical injury I've had was when I broke my arm at a rodeo. I was young (about 20) and Austin was just 6 months old. It was hard to take of him with a broken arm. I guess that would be the worst injury I have had, physically.

3. How well do you handle pain? Have you always had a high/low tolerance? If so, when did it change?
I think I have a high tolerance for pain. I handle pain okay, but I guess it just depends on what type of pain it is.

4. Do you take external medicines when you are hurt? Why or why not? Do you try/use alternative therapies? Why or why not?
Of course I take medicines! No one likes to be in pain! :o) I don't, however, choose to do alternative forms of therapy.

5. Describe a time when you were hurt and it wasn't as serious as you thought. How did you feel before and after?
I will have to think on this one...maybe when I had a car accident back when I was 16. I thought I was going to be seriously injured, but I wasn't!

And here's my Friday Five...

1. When was the last time you cheated? Hmmmmm...Middle School I think. (Got caught too! Haven't cheated since then!)

2. When was the last time you stole? I think the only time I have stole something was when I was a young child. I stole one of those 3-cent pieces of bubble gum from a convenient store and my mom made me take it back and tell them what I had done!

3. When was the last time you lied? Lie? Me?!?

4. When was the last time you broke or vandalized another's property? I don't recall ever doing something like that.

5. When was the last time you hurt a loved one? I would never intentionally hurt a loved one, but I can't really remember the last time I did. We all hurt loved ones at times whether it is in a tough-love situation or inadvertantly.

Have a great day my friends!!!

=hugs=

Hi y'all!

I have been home from work for almost an hour...it's 12:50 a.m. and I should really be in bed! I have to be at the orthodontist at 10:00 which means I am going to have to be up about 7:30 so that I can get me and the boys ready before I make the 35-minute trip into town. I am tired, but can't sleep. I think I am nervous about the actual procedure of getting the braces put on. But, I think I am also worried about what people will think of an 'almost' 30-year-old having braces. Will people make fun of me? Will people think I am crazy for doing something like this so late in life? Hmmmmmmmm?? Maybe I am worried for no reason, but, well...you know! :) It worries me! I know that I am getting braces for me and to make myself feel better about me, but I also need them for my TMJ. Why am I so dang worried about it?!?! Who knows!

Ok...I know...y'all are tired of hearing about me and my braces! Maybe it's just that I am feeling old. I don't know.

I did manage to get a new adoption added to my Adoption Shoppe today. It's an adorable new adoption by Ginger Paws...and it is a cutie! Be sure to stop by and see it. It's called "You and Me...Buds Forever". Click =here= to go to my shoppe.

I also did a lot of work on my main site, Wilkins Lane today. I added some new pictures and adoptions and moved some things around a bit. I still have quite a bit of work to do, but I am off to a good start. Be sure to stop by and visit! Click =here=.

I am going to try to get some sleep now. Wish me luck! (((hugs))) to all my wonderful bloggin' buds...You're all great. Don't know what I'd do without you! I will be sure to blog tomorrow when I get home and let you know how it goes.

Good Tuesday Morning, my friends!

I hope your day is off to a great start and that you are all doing well. I just rolled out of bed, the boys are still asleep, and it is so nice and quiet...so...I thought I would do a little bit of blogging since I didn't have time to yesterday! I have also had time to update my Adoption Shoppe, so be sure to stop by there and check out all the new adoptions!

I go back to the orthodontist this morning to get some more spacers put into my teeth. They had to use some metal ones last week because my teeth are so close together that they couldn't get the rubber ones. And, one of my spacers came out and one of them broke this weekend! So, off to the orthodontist I go this morning! Believe me...I am not complaining at all. I am very fortunate to be able to get braces. I am so glad to have the opportunity to straighten my teeth.

It's back to work tonight...I have been off for the last 4 days. I hate to call in sick like that, but you gotta do what you gotta do! :o) I guess I better get off here and go visit my reads so that I can get ready to go to town. Y'all have a radiant day!

Here's my This-or-That for today:

1. Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck?
2. Tom or Jerry?
3. Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck?
4. Rocky & Bullwinkle or Boris & Natasha?
5. Road Runner or Wile E. Coyote?
6. Sylvester or Tweety?
7. Popeye or Bluto?
8. South Park or The Simpsons?
9. Jetsons or Flintstones?
10. And finally, the eternal question asked by all good Scooby-Doo fans: Velma or Daphne?

=hugs=

Monday, July 14, 2003

Good Monday Morning!!

I want to thank all of you for your well-wishes for me with these spacers in my teeth. I am feeling a little better, but my teeth are very sore. You are all very kind to think of me!

I don't have much time to write right now because I have a bunch of errands to run since I have done absolutely nothing for the past few days! I also have a brand new customized set for my blog that I need to put up today...it's so cute! I can't wait for all of you to see it!

I hope your week is off to a great start and I will be back to visit my reads later today!

Thursday, July 10, 2003

Good morning!

Well, I have just returned from the orthodontist and I now have spacers between my teeth. I was really worried about it, but the actual process of putting them on wasn't so bad. My teeth are really crowded, so that had to put a few metal spacers in and some of them are teenie, tiny rubber bands. I go back on Tuesday to have the metal ones replaced with the rubber ones. Then...Thursday is the big day! I will be getting my braces on. (can you believe that I am 29 years old and will be wearing braces?!?) I haven't had any pain as of yet, but I cannot bite down which means I cannot eat!!!! UGH! I am so hungry! I should have eaten before I went over there. I suppose I will be eating a lot of soup for the next few days. The orthodontist told me that tomorrow would be when I would start feeling really uncomfortable and the pain would probably kick in...hmmmmm...might have to call in sick! :o)

The boys are back, and things are certainly normal today! LOL They are running around and picking at each other already! It was really good to see them this morning. They both hugged my neck and gave me 'big' kisses when I saw them. They had a wonderful time. They went to the water park in Little Rock, went to ride go-carts, went to the zoo, the park, and gosh knows what else!? I don't think they were actually ready to come home yet!

We had some stormy weather last night, which we really needed the rain but the wind must have blown really hard. There is stuff all over my yard that isn't where it's supposed to be! I think it's supposed to be a little cooler today but still a rather warm day no doubt!

I need to get off here so that I can take some ibuprofen before the pain kicks in too bad. I guess I will have a bowl of soup for lunch! LOL

Have a radiant day!!!!
=hugs=

No kids?!?

Hmmmm...not sure if that is a good thing or not!! My husband's sister and her husband are taking the boys to Little Rock to stay with them for the next two days. The boys are really excited, but I'm not so sure that I am. They really like their aunt and uncle, but this is the first time they've gone to stay with them since they have lived in Little Rock. It's 2 1/2 hours from here....maybe that's why I am so worried. I don't know...maybe I am worrying for nothing!

We have to go to the State Championship this weekend, so I need to get off here and start making preparations for being away all weekend.

Here's my Tuesday This or That:

1. Strawberries or blueberries?
2. "Legally Blonde 2" or "Terminator 3"?
3. Hamburgers or hot dogs?
4. Boating or hiking?
5. Suntan lotion or sunblock?
6. "Big Brother" or "The Amazing Race"?
7. Beach Boys or Jimmy Buffett?
8. Grow your own produce or buy from supermarket/greengrocer/farm stand?
9. Drive with car windows/top down, or with air-conditioning on?
10. Go away for vacation, or stay at home?

Y'all have a radiant day!!

==hugs==

Monday, July 07, 2003

Good Monday Morning!

What a busy weekend we had! I told y'all about my son making the all-star team...well...they played in the district tournament this weekend and we are now going to the State Championship tournament! Woooo Hoooo!!! I am so proud of my son and his team. They played so well this weekend. And guess what else!?!?!? He got MVP of the game yesterday!!!! He caught a fly-ball (while in a dead run) and it was beautiful! We are so very proud of him.

We will be making the 5 1/2 hour trip up to Paragould next weekend for the State tournament. Austin is looking forward to staying in a hotel. (why is it that kids like to stay in hotels?!?)

I hate to rush, but I've got some errands to run today. Y'all have a super day!

=hugs=

Happy Saturday!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July and that your weekend is off to a great start. I had to work until midnight last night, so I didn't get to watch any fireworks...the boys decided they didn't want to shoot our fireworks without me, so they decided to wait until tomorrow night...isn't that sweet!?!? Chad took the boys to another large fireworks display last night and they really enjoyed it.

My sister just found out that her landlord just sold the land that her house sits on and they are going to be moving it. She has until September 1st to move out...she is so upset. I feel terrible for her. Things were just starting to settle down for her and now this. She could hardly talk to me she was crying so hard on the phone...I just don't know what to tell her. I tried to explain to her that we would find something else for her. She is convinced that this is the end of her world. It will be hard to find something that a single mother can afford, but I am just sure that something will become available for her. Bless her little heart. I've tried and tried to get her to go stay with Mom and Dad and live in the bunk house, but she doesn't want to...so...I guess we'll just have to find something here for her.

I guess I've rambled enough for today...I have to be at work at 4:00, so I better get off here. Y'all have a great afternoon...hugs!

Good morning!!

I hope you are all having a great day so far. I just rolled my lazy butt out of bed...it was nice to sleep in a little bit! Austin stayed the night with a friend last night and Tanner was up late, so he slept in too.

We had a great time swimming yesterday. My face sunburned so bad...it's weird...nothing else is sunburned! We were out there for about 3 1/2 hours and it was so fun!

After we went swimming, we headed up to the Catfish Hole...it a great little place to eat that serves the best catfish. We went with the couple that has the pool and my sister and niece went as well. The food was great!

Tonight we are going to see a fireworks display at our city park and we are looking forward to that. It's always a great show. Anyway...I am just rambling so I think I will go visit all my reads and then get some cleaning done. Y'all have a great day! Hugs...

Hi y'all!!!

What a beautiful day today is going to be. The sun is shining and it's going to be HOT ---> and I love it!!!

I feel so rested today. I got home from practice last night, played on the Net for a while, and went to bed. Hubby was at work and had to work all night, so I had the bed all to myself! :o) I slept until about 9:30 this morning and got up before the boys to do some playing on e-bay. I love that place!

Now I am going to get ready and go have lunch with my best friend. We are going to a little steak house close to here, so that should be fun. I feel as though I haven't seen her in ages, but it's only been a week (if that long)!

After lunch I am going to take the boys swimming at a friend's house. I like going there so much more than going to our local water park. We have a really nice, new water park here but it's always just so darn crowded. Some of those people are really not so clean too and I worry about putting my kids in the same pool of water with them. Is that bad of me?!?

Well...I'm off to get ready for lunch. Y'all have a radiant day!
