Good morning!
Thank you all so much for your encouraging words on my tag board and for the wonderful cards that you've sent!! It means so much to me to know that I have so many friends out there. I've gotten one of the tests out of the way >>made 100% on it<< and now I just have two to go this week. One tomorrow night and one this weekend. Whew...study, study, study!
I have discovered that Austin (9 years old) suddenly thinks that it is "uncool" to kiss his mother. {{sigh}} I brought him to work with me this morning because he has an eye doctor appointment at 8:30. We didn't know if my husband was going to be able to take him or not so just came in with me. Chad came by to pick him up after checking his schedule for the day. I walked them up to the front door, kissed Chad goodbye and then looked at Austin, fully expecting a kiss from him (keep in mind there are two receptionists sitting at the front entrance). Austin looked at with this "you've got to be kidding" look on his face. I told him to come give me a kiss and he let this huge sigh out. So, he kissed me on the cheek and then wiped his lips off...all the while he was laughing. My, my, my...I never thought I'd see the day that he didn't want to kiss me, but I guess most boys go through that.
I made another strange discovery this week too. It has been brought to my attention that my youngest son's day care is making the kids take their shoes off after all the parents have left each morning. What the heck is up with that?!? I was furious. No wonder he's had a runny nose and dirty socks for weeks. The entire day care floor is tile...which tends to stay cold in the winter time. We confronted day care about it this morning and they told us that they do it to cut down on their cleaning time each afternoon. Well I don't hardly think so. I told her that if the floors were so dang clean from making the kids take their shoes off every day, his socks wouldn't be so dang black!! I pay damn good money to that preschool each week and my child will keep his shoes on, or else! Tanner also told me that last week, when the day care inspector was in for the week, that they all kept their shoes on. Now, why is it that they would want to hide that from the inspector?!? Hmmmmmm....maybe because is't unhealthy?!? Ugh!!! Okay...now y'all tell me if you think I am upset for no reason. I need some honest opinions. My kids don't even run around our home barefoot in the winter time...we wear house shoes as to prevent illness and cold feet.
Okay...I guess I am finished venting and this post probably turned into much more than you wanted to read today!!! It's cold, rainy, and dreary here today, so send some sunshine my way! Y'all have a radiant day!!!
